about

After a recent hiatus, Huess returns with his first new solo material in over a year. 'Sandpaper' is a four track MP3-only EP from Inaudible Answer and represents his most personal musical statement to date. The eponymous opener to the EP starts out with a late night groove of horns, moogs and dismembered voices displaying all the production flourishes and song-writerly structure fans of Huess' beats will recognise.

Returning to more familiar territory, 'The Pinnacle' is a bass-driven hip hopper overlaid with live percussion and haunting synth samples managing to balance melodic lightness with the heaviness of the kicks and snares. ‘Chop Off’ has been kicking around on Huess' hard drive for a few years now - a slice of nostalgic vintage synth bringing to mind early '70s Krautrock from the likes of Cluster. The EP is rounded out by 'Recidivist' a return to the plucked guitar, rap sampling and elastic bass sounds of his back catalog.
